This presentation contains explanations of the possibilities for inheritance when a person dies intestate. We have created flowcharts which portray many of the most common scenarios involving community property, separate property, and what happens when the deceased has a surviving spouse or children. We believe this tool is a “must have” for every field landman because intestate distribution issues occur in every chain of title. We hope this will assist you in your day-to-day operations, as well as training new landmen. I know we have found this tool very helpful in our own office.
