G. Neil Irwin

Neil is an associate at the firm with a background in oil and gas title. He prepares original drilling, supplemental and divisions order title opinions. Prior to joining the firm, Neil most recently managed a team of curative landmen and worked closely with E&P company to resolve title issues, but he has spent the majority of his professional career examining title in multiple jurisdictions including Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Neil's experience provides a diverse perspective in analyzing clients' needs. 

Neil resides in Fort Worth and is an active member of his church. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kendra, and their one-year-old son, Ezra.

Matt Rainey

Matt is a partner at the firm with a background in land management and field operations.  Matt has been with the firm since January of 2012 and became board certified in Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law in 2016. He prepares original drilling, supplemental and division order title opinions as well as various title documents and pooling letters. Matt's work for the firm also concentrates on the preparation and analysis of contractual documents such as Operating Agreements, Purchase and Sale Agreements, Lease Agreements, Salt Water Disposal Agreements and contracts related to Ranch Real Estate. Prior to joining the firm, Matt worked as a field landman in the Permian Basin, Barnett Shale and Eagle Ford Shale trends, obtaining leases, curative documents and performing title searches.

Matt grew up in San Angelo, Texas before attending Texas Tech in Lubbock and then Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in Fort Worth. He enjoys spending time at the family ranch with friends, family and especially his wife Mia and their sons Preston and Foster.

Adam T. Braaten

Adam T. Braaten

Adam is a Board Certified Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Attorney that has been with the firm since 2009.  Besides preparing original drilling, supplemental, and division order title opinions, Adam drafts documents affecting real property interests, title status letters, and letters assisting in or analyzing the formation of pooled units.  In addition, Adam works closely with the Texas Railroad Commission on regulatory issues such as interpreting and ensuring compliance with regulations involving proration and pooled units, and the Texas General Land Office on the State’s ownership of oil and gas.  Beyond his transactional practice, Adam provides litigation support and handles receiverships for a number of clients.  Adam works closely with clients to ensure their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. 

Prior to attending law school, Adam worked in the oil and gas division of an international consulting firm where he spent most of his time in the area of production and revenue accounting.  While in law school and prior to joining the firm, Adam worked as an intern for the Honorable Emilio M. Garza of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, teaching assistant for Dr. Robert Hu and research assistant for Professor Vincent R. Johnson.

Eric is the managing partner of the firm's Fort Worth office who has worked in the oil and gas industry since 2007.  He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and currently practices in Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming and Pennsylvania.  Besides preparing title opinions, Eric drafts documents affecting real property interests, title status letters, letters assisting in or analyzing the formation of pooled units, expert opinions for litigation support and handles receiverships.

Prior to joining the firm, Eric worked as a Landman in the Eagle Ford and Barnett Shale.  His experience in the field has given him an understanding of the needs of our clients and the ability to render "stand-up" title opinions in the courthouse. 

Eric moved from San Antonio to Fort Worth in 2017 with his wife, Amanda, and their sons, Eric III, Charles and Joe.

Stephen assists companies with operations in Texas, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma.  He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  Stephen prepares original, supplemental and division order title opinions along with all types of title curative documents.  He has advised clients of all sizes, assisting with business structure, lease forms and issues relating to the formation of pooled units.  Stephen also oversees the technology utilized by the firm to ensure we are making use of all available tools to both increase efficiency and maintain communication with our clients.

Originally from St. Simon’s Island, Georgia, Stephen moved to San Antonio after law school with his wife, Meecia Hollimon Little, a native of San Antonio, where they currently raise their daughter and two sons.  Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Stephen worked in a diverse law practice, handling matters ranging from business litigation and probate to Constitutional issues.   This diverse background helps Stephen provide practical and sound advice on a variety of legal issues to our clients.

Philip C. Mani

Mr. Mani’s work with clients covers a wide range of services.  He counsels oil and gas explorationists and developers of all sizes and in all producing areas of Texas and Pennsylvania.  He advises in day-to-day problem-solving associated with, but not limited to, title examination, title curative, legal research, including the complex issues involving horizontal drilling and forming pooled units.  Mr. Mani’s work often begins at inception of projects by developing lease forms, leasing, title examination, acquisitions and divestures, and working with the regulatory agencies involved with writing and/or interpreting the regulations in new and developing trends.  His experience is extensive and he has been involved with horizontal drilling, title examination, the formation and reformation of pooled units covers rural areas, suburban, urban and industrial areas throughout Texas since 1990 and throughout Pennsylvania since 2009.  Mr. Mani has also successfully tried cases concerning the construction and interpretation of deeds and other conveyances, including wills, involving mineral/royalty ownership.

As founder and a Partner of Mani Little & Wortmann, PLLC, Philip C. Mani has been engaged in the practice of law for the oil and gas industry since 1990, offering clients his extensive experience in oil and gas transactions and oil and gas exploration and development projects.  Mr. Mani’s career in the oil and gas industry began in 1980 as a Petroleum Geologist, later as a Petroleum Landman, before becoming an Oil and Gas Attorney in 1990 working with horizontal drilling in the Austin Chalk trend.  His legal, land and geological experience in all geologic basins in Texas and those in many of its surrounding states, coupled with his extensive work in the Austin Chalk, Barnett Shale, Eagle Ford, Sprayberry, Wolfcamp, Bone Springs, Marcellus, Woodbine and Permian Basin trends from inception provides him with special insight into the many needs of our clients.
 
He is a native Texan, from San Antonio, and has solid connections to all facets of the Texas oil and gas industry.  He is also well-connected in Pennsylvania and to Pennsylvania’s oil and gas industry through his grandfather's business in Warren, Pennsylvania.
 
Mr. Mani is especially proud to serve as Co-Founder and Co-Trustee of the Robert and John Ratliff Scholarship and Cancer Research Fund.  He is very active in the field of Geology and Meteoritics (the study of meteors and meteorites), an avid hunter and enjoys playing golf in his free time.
